Kem Pimpin Siswa

This is the first time BHEPP organize Kem Pimpin Siswa. Year 1 USM students are compulsory to attend this camp. Six different places are rent to organize this camp. The first series of this camp is started at 17 July 2009. Every series started at Friday and end at Sunday, which is three days and two nights. All HBP students are located at series four, 07 August 2009 until 09 August 2009. My camp is located at Kem Belantara Elit, Kuala Nerang, Kedah.
All series four students must gather at dataran in front of DUP at 9am.

Our journey start…

We reach our DESTINATION!!!
After we reach our destination, Malay boys going to pray and the others can go to canteen to have our lunch. They provide plate, spoon, fork and plastic cup for us, but we need to wash it after used and keep it for three days.
After finish our lunch, we are gathered in a hall. Facilitators keep all of our handphones , wallets and something valuable. We are divided into 9 groups. Group 1 until 3 form a company which is Company A. Group 4 until 6 are Company B and group 7 until 9 are Company C. I am in Company A, Group 1.
We are required to set up our own camp. This is my campmates and this is our camp.
We have a lot of activities there. The most memorable activity is at midnight of Friday. We are woke up at 2am. We have a jungle trekking!!! No torchlight is allowed. Luckily we are going in the jungle by queuing up as a row. The night is so silent and we just heard the cry of insects when we were in the jungle. Before we go in the jungle, we will pass through a rice paddy. Our legs are inside the mud and it was very sticky and uncomfortable. We walked and walked in the jungle. I don’t know how long we were walked. When we reached our camp, it was almost 5am. I just slept three hours for the first night.
The second day, early in the morning, we have an aerobic dancing. After we had our breakfast, we have games. We need to crawl and roll at the ground and pass through many barriers. My group didn’t won any games. After finished our games, we have to prepare our lunch today. The ingredients that provide for us are chicken, cabbage, rice, onion, garlic, chili, curry powder, oil and some seasoning. The cookware are a pot, a slice, a pan, a knife, a chopping board and a container. We need to prepare the whole things for our lunch. We have to kill the chicken, wash it and the cabbage and cook by our self. The time given is only one hour. We divided the work and started to prepare for our lunch. This survival cooking is also a competition. Although our group didn’t got the first prize, but I feel our lunch is the most delicious in these three days. We have a competition at night which is a performance. The tips we got is a cat and a dog live harmonious. What we had perform is different races of people still can live harmonious in Malaysia. Luckily we didn’t have any activity at the second night and we can sleep well.
The third day which is the last day of our camp. We still have a presentation on the last day. The title is “Cara melestarikan kampus atau asrama.” After we had done our presentation, we started to keep our mess up.
Everybody is on the way to go back USM.
I learn many experience on this camp and I hope it will be useful on my life.
